Honey Crisp Apple or Honey Crunch Apple or Simply Honey Apple is one of the newest varieties in the market. This apple is quick gaining a name for itself as its sweetness, firmness, and tartness make it an ideal apple for eating raw. It is relatively small in size but packs a punch much bigger that what we may think. One bite into it and you will see a flood of juices and flavours. Honey Crisp comes from a long line of apples developed by the University of Minnesota from the 1930s onwards. The flavour is sweet with very little trace of acidity and little depth or complexity. There can also be a trace of pear-drop flavour. In a good example this is a juicy and instantly refreshing apple
It has a very distinct pattern with looks like a dose of honey on the inside(see pictures), however some people mistake it as a rot. Rest assured, that it is completely normal for the honey crisp apple to look like that and once you take a bite of it, you might never eat any other apple in your life!
Taste – Very Juicy and crunchy with very sweet taste.
Recommended use – Eating fresh, salads, baking and making jams, jellies, and smoothies.
